Sage software upgrades or migration support with minimal business disruption

Accountancy and bookkeeping tool Sage has recently advised of a software upgrade as older versions are being phased out. For those using Sage, you must be aware of the changes to ensure your data security and communications is protected by implementing any necessary updates or migrating to alternative bookkeeping tools.

Many business owners use Sage for their bookkeeping and payroll to help digitalise their company and as companies get ready for Making Tax Digital (MTD). If you use Sage, then it’s important to take note of these changes to ensure no interruption to your business.

Sage updates

Sage’s main priority is to ensure that your data is protected in accordance with the latest industry standards. Therefore, they are switching off TLS 1.0 and 1.1 by 30 September 2022 for its remaining services, Auto Update and Sage License Server. Once these are switched off, anyone using Sage 50 Accounts or Sage 50cloud Accounts v26.2 or below won’t be able to access their software.

If you have a read-only licence and need access to your read-only Sage 50 Accounts, you must install the update.

Sage 50 Accounts v26.2 and below is also affected by these changes unless your software has never been installed on a computer with an Internet connection.

If you no longer require access to the software, Sage advised that you don’t need to upgrade.
